If the leaves haven't changed where you are yet, go ahead and create your own rainbow of leaf colors by leaf rubbing! This fun activity requires very few materials, provides practice for scissor skills and color matching!

Start with:

  • Paper
  • Card Stock in rainbow of colors
  • Crayons in rainbow of colors
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Washi or craft tape

Create it!

Step 1: Cover leaf with piece of paper, and using a crayon, gently color over the area with the leaf underneath it to create leaf imprint.

Step 2: Cut out the leaf imprint.

Step 3: Glue the leaf imprint to a piece of cardstock, the same color as the crayon that was used.

Step 4: Cut around the glued on leaf, leaving a colored boarder. Continue Steps 1 - 4 until all the colors of the rainbow have been created.

Step 5: Set leaves in one group and matching colored washi tape on the other side of the table. Encourage your child to tape the leaves on with the matching color of tape.

Learning is fun - and colorful - with this simple matching activity!
