It is no secret that we love lines! We recently spent an afternoon tracing shapes to create our own unique patterns to color. It was fun to see how differently everyone’s patterns turned out using the same basic shapes.
- Markers/Colored Pencils/Crayons
- Shapes to trace
To start, we used wooden geometrical shapes from toys and puzzles. Household items such as paper cups and coins could also be used for tracing. Or, create your own shape templates from recycled cardboard such as cereal boxes.
Next, we determined a pattern from the available shapes and traced to paper. We used markers to color in the shapes and finish our patterns!
