We had so much fun making yarn sewing autumn leaves earlier this season, we knew we wanted to try the same technique for turkey feathers! Happy to report it is just as fun and makes a cute little turkey for Thanksgiving crafting. But, be sure to try it out so you can decide for yourself!
- Single Hole Punch
- Bits of Orange Cardboard or Cardstock
Step 1: Cut feather shapes from cardboard.
Step 2: Punch holes around the outside boarder of each feather piece.
Step 3: Sew the yarn on each cardboard feather. We used a variety of colors - so many options!
Step 4: From cardboard, cut a circle for the turkey body. Cut small slits on each size of the circle and fasten yarn in rows, going back and forth until the circle is finished.
Step 5: Repeat Step 4 with a slightly smaller circle for the turkey head.
Step 6: Glue the head and body to the feathers.
Step 7: Cut a beak and legs from orange cardboard or cardstock and glue to the turkey.
