The beautiful colors of wildflowers are such a wonderful thing to see each Spring. We decided to bring a bit of nature inside with these wildflower nature weavings!
Start with:
- Twigs or Sticks - 4 of Similar Size
- Twine or String
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wildflowers, Leaves, Nature Finds for Weaving
Create it!
Step 1: Arrange four sticks into square shape and glue together at corners. (We recommend adults do this part!)
Step 2: Once hot glue dries, reinforce corners by wrapping twine or string around the corners.
Step 3: Tie twine or string to one corner and create a grid by wrapping top to bottom of frame, moving over and repeating until the whole frame is covered. Tie at end corner.
Step 4: Now that the loom is finished, it's time to start weaving! We began with some leafy pieces to form a base layer, then added smaller flowers of all colors.
We enjoy weaving with yarn and it was fun to use a different material!
