Perfect for a preschool plant unit, this Venus Fly Trap craft is made from paper plates and a paper towel tube!
Start with:
- Paper Plates
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Glue
- Paper Towel Tube
- Scissors
Create it!
Step 1: Fold a paper plate in half and paint the inside circle (non-textured portion) green. Allow it to dry.
Step 2: Paint the other side of the paper plate inside circle pink and allow it to dry.
Step 3: Cut spikey shapes around the textured edges of the paper plate. (Create another one or two plant blooms, if you'd like.)
Step 4: Paint a paper towel tube and allow it to dry.
Step 5: Paint a paper plate green. Allow it to dry.
Step 6: Cut leaves from the painted paper plate.
Step 7: Glue the paper plate blooms to the paper towel tube.
Step 8: Glue the leaves to the paper towel tube.
Step 9: Add eyes cut from another paper plate, paper or cardstock.
Venus Fly Traps are so interesting and this is such an easy craft to do as part of a lesson or just for fun!
