Spring gives us so much cuteness in the form of baby animals and who can resist a fluffy baby chick?! Made with recycled cardboard and paint, use the same technique to create bunnies and any other baby animal of the season!
Start with:
- Cardboard
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cardstock
- Shredded, crinkled paper
- Optional: upcycled plastic lids and pom poms for eyes but cardstock works just fine too!
Create it!
Step 1: Paint cardboard and allow to dry.
Step 2: For the body, cut 7-8 strips, approximately 5 inches by 1/2 inch from painted cardboard.
Step 3: Place glue in center of strip and lay another strip on top. Continue until strips form a circle.
Step 4: Repeat Steps 2-3 with 5-6 strips, approximately 3 inches by 1/2 inch in size.
Step 5: Gule smaller circle to top of larger circle, creating head and body.
Step 6: Create eyes from cardstock or upcycled items.
Step 7: Cut triangle beak from orange cardstock.
Step 8: Glue eyes and beak to head.
Step 9: Glue shredded, crinkled paper on body for downy feathers.
Such a fun decoration and made primarily from recycled cardboard!
