For some of us summer break is already here and for others, it is quickly approaching! There are so many reasons to love summer. And, I really do enjoy it. Occasionally though, and when I am in the middle of making dinner more often than not, I hear the dreaded - "There is nothing to do!" You too? I am all for setting out invitations to create type activities but when I don't have the time, I direct my kiddos to the Something to Do Box. The box is filled with 30 or so activities that they can do while I finish making dinner, etc. And, because of the added element of surprise (drawing an activity) they really love it!

Start with:

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Tissue Box (It already has a hole built in!)
  • Glue
  • Pen or Marker

Create It!

Step1: Write or print activities on sheets of paper.

Step 2: Cut to separate the activities.

Step 3: Fold and place activity strips into box.

Step 4: Draw or print a sign and glue half to box so it can be lifted to reach in and select an activity.

There is always something fun and creative to do. Sometimes a little reminder is all they need!
