Isn't it so fun how shapes can be made into different shapes? Take a square and turn it into two triangles. Or, making three triangles from a rectangle! This apple is made from an assortment of simple shapes - rectangles, triangles and squares. Sort the shapes, count the shapes - so many activities to go along with this simple craft!
Start with:
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Glue
Create it!
Step 1: Paint cardboard red and allow to dry. (We used a box we were going to recycle anyway.)
Step 2: Cut cardboard into simple geometric shapes. (Adult)
Step 3: Glue shapes into a larger apple shape.
Step 4: Cut two triangles from cardboard. Paint green and allow to dry. Cut one rectangle from cardboard and leave unpainted.
Step 5: Glue green triangle leaves and rectangle stem to top of apple.
