This paper plate Scarecrow is just right for an Autumn! Collaborate with your little one on making this craft and then give them a chance to work on scissors skills with this hair cut activity.
- Paper Plates
Step 1: Paint a paper plate for the scarecrow's face and allow it to dry.
Step 2: Cut eyes, nose, mouth and cheeks from cardboard. Paint the pieces and allow them to dry.
Step 3: Glue the eyes, nose, mouth and cheeks to the painted paper plate.
Step 4: Cut cardstock into strips for the scarecrow's hair.
Step 5: Glue the cardstock strips to the scarecrow face.
Step 6: Cut a paper plate in half and paint it. This will make the scarecrow's hat.
Step 7: Cut the textured portion from the half of the paper plate.
Step 8: Glue the two pieces together to create the scarecrow's hat.
Step 9: Trim the edges of the hat brim.
Step 10: Glue the hat to the scarecrow.
Now, the scissors practice - have your little one work on their skills by giving the scarecrow a haircut!
