We like to use recycled materials as much as we can and we keep a bin on hand with several different sizes and shapes of plastic lids. For these turkeys, we used recycled lids in autumn colors!
- Recycled plastic lids
- Colored paper and cardboard in a variety of colors
- Paper bag
- Single hole punch
- 1 inch hole punch
Step 1: Cut triangle from the paper bag and snip off the top point. Fold back and forth like a fan.
Step 2: Cut a piece of colored paper or cardboard (we used a painted paper plate from our scrap bin) and glue to the top of the folded paper bag piece to create feathers.
Step 3: Cut or use a 1 inch hole punch from textured cardboard. Add eyes from single hole paper punch and a triangle beak.
Step 4: Glue the plastic lid to the feathers.
Step 5: Glue the head to the plastic lid.
We had several lids that we thought worked for turkey bodies so made our own little flock!
