There are so many simple to set up ways to work on color sorting! This activity uses cardboard, paint (fun to do together!) and blocks.
Start with:
- Cardboard
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Colored Wooden Blocks
Create it!
Step 1: Paint several pieces of cardboard in rainbow colors and allow them to dry.
Step 2: Trim the cardboard to the same size.
Step 3: Stack (or ask your child to stack) the painted cardboard pieces in rainbow order.
Step 4: Set out an assortment of colored blocks.
Step 5: Ask your child to place to colored blocks on the matching painted cardboard piece.
This is such a simple - but effective way to work on color sorting! Expand the lesson by reading books about rainbows or the color wheel.
