Quilling is cutting paper strips, rolling them and gluing them to create art. We used bright colors and a paper plate as a base to create this colorful flower garden!
- Paper Plate
- Cardstock, variety of colors
- Pen or Pencil
Step 1: Paint a paper plate and allow it to dry.
Step 2: Cut strips of cardstock in a variety of colors.
Step 3: Wrap a strip of cardstock around a pencil and glue the bottom to the paper plate.
Step 4: Continue, Step 3, gluing strips together prior to rolling with a pencil to create larger sizes.
Step 5: Cut leaves from cardstock, folding each in the middle.
Step 6: Glue the leaves to the paper plate. We really liked it like this and you can stop now if you do too. We also liked the garden with some vines added in Step 7!
Step 7: Cut some additional green strips of cardstock. Wrap one end around the pencil to curl it and glue the other end to the paper plate to create vines.
A simple, fun and colorful introduction to quilling - and would be perfect for Mother's Day this weekend!
