Have you ever seen a quail family walking in a straight line? It's adorable! We made this Quail Crown that would be a fun addition to a quail unit study or just because.
Start with:
- Cardboard
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cardstock
- Stapler
Create it!
Step 1: Cut a length of cardboard and staple it together to form a crown. Set aside until the last step.
Step 2: From cardboard, cut a shape that is roughly a half circle with a circle on top of it for the bird.
Step 3: Paint all but the top half circle of the bird and allow it to dry.
Step 4: Paint some dots to the bird body and a detail line to outline the unpainted portion of the bird's head.
Step 5: Cut additional pieces from cardstock for the bird's face - a leaf shape, two eyes, a plume, and a beak.
Step 6: Glue the plume to the quail's head.
Step 7: Glue the eyes and beak to the leaf shape to create the quail's face.
Step 8: Glue the face to the quail's head.
Step 9: Glue the quail to the band made in Step 1.
Such a fun bird to learn about and we like that it wears a little cap of its own - complete with plume!
