We used a variety of textures for this easy to make peacock artwork and the q-tips just might be our favorite part!
- Paper Plate
- Paper Cup
- Textured Cardboard
- Plastic Eyes
- 1 Inch Paper Punch, optional
Step 1: Paint a paper plate and allow it to dry.
Step 2: Paint a paper cup and allow it to dry.
Step 3: Add plastic eyes and a cardstock beak to the paper cup.
Step 4: Paint the top portion and stem portion of several q-tips blue.
Step 5: Cut off the unpainted portion of the painted q-tips.
Step 6: Glue the painted q-tips in a fan formation on the paper plate.
Step 7: Glue the paper cup to the paper plate.
Step 8: Paint two q-tips green. Once dry, cut in half.
Step 9: Glue the green q-tips to the top of the paper cup for added plumage.
Step 10: Paint textured cardboard blue and allow to dry. With paper punch or freehand, cut circles.
Step 11: Glue the circles to the plate for added texture.
If you place the cup on the very edge of the plate, your peacock should be able to stand up on its own for display!
