The weather is getting cooler and it's just right for a cozy quilt! We used several different shapes and textures in a patchwork design for the vegetable of the season - pumpkins!
Start with:
- Textured and Plain Cardboard
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cardstock, optional for eyes
Create it!
Step 1: Cut pumpkin shape(s) out of cardboard.
Step 2: Paint variety of cardboard in multiple shades of orange. We used textured cardboard and rolled a paper towel tube in paint, cut in half and flattened. Allow to dry.
Step 3: Cut cardboard pieces into squares and rectangles.
Step 4: Glue painted shapes to cardboard pumpkin shape in a patchwork design.
Step 5:Trim the edges of the patchwork pieces.
Step 6: Cut stem shape from cardboard. Paint, allow to dry and glue to pumpkin.
Step 7: Optional, add eyes, nose and/or mouth to pumpkin from cardstock or cardboard.
It's really fun fitting the pattern together and such interesting texture once finished!
