Watermelons and summer go hand in hand! Looking for something special to celebrate Labor Day weekend or maybe you have a birthday coming up? Whatever the reason, the shape of watermelon slices lends itself perfectly for a fun crown.
- Paper Plates
- Cardboard or Cardstock
- Stapler, optional
Step 1: Paint a green ring around the outside of a few paper plates. Allow paint to dry.
Step 2: Paint the inner portion of the paper plates red or bright pink. Allow the paint to dry.
Step 3: Cut each paper plate into fourths.
Step 4: Paint black seeds on the watermelon slices, or use a single hole paper punch and glue the black circles on the slices.
Step 5: Create a crown band with a long strip of cardboard or cardstock, using glue and/or staples if needed. (We recommend adults use the stapler if needed.)
Step 6: Glue the watermelon slice around the crown band.
Whether a special occasion or just because - this watermelon creation is fun for anytime!
