Crafts and activities with yarn add such a fun textural element to a project. We used yarn to create this not too spooky paper plate mummy!
- Paper Plate
- Cardstock (we used white and orange)
Step 1: Paint a paper plate black and allow it to dry.
Step 2: From cardstock, cut two larger circles (we traced a plastic cap for the circle on the larger) and two smaller circles (we used a 1 inch paper hole punch).
Step 3: Glue the eye circles on the black paper plate.
Step 4: Cut small slits on each side of the paper plate.
Step 5: Cut a piece of yarn and tie a knot at one end.
Step 6: Place the yarn in one of the cuts on the side of the paper plate. Drape the yarn across the paper plate and secure in the corresponding cut in the paper plate on the other side. Repeat until plate is covered with yarn. Tie a knot in the yarn when finished to secure.
This project is full of Halloween fun and just uses a few materials!
