I'm pretty sure a version or two of this was made during my childhood. It's just too much fun not to make a paper bag into a Jack o Lantern for Halloween. This one never gets old and we added our own twist - literally - for the stem!
- Paper Bag
Step 1: Stuff a paper bag with crumpled newspaper and tie it closed with twine.
Step 2: Cut another piece of twine and after twisting the top of the paper bag, tie the twine to the top.
Step 3: Continue wrapping the twine around the stem, making a knot each time before wrapping the twine around again. Knot it at the end when it meets with the original twine used to tie the bag closed.
Step 4: Paint the bottom portion of the bag orange. Allow the paint to dry.
Step 5: Cut a Jack o Lantern face from black cardstock.
Step 6: Glue the cardstock pieces to the pumpkin to create the Jack o Lantern.
These would be really fun to place a Halloween surprise inside or just make a few for some cute and not so spooky decor!
