As the year winds down we look back on 2016 and look forward to a new year full of possibilities. It is a wonderful time of celebration and hope! If you held on to some of your leftover Christmas ribbon- you are in luck! The ribbon with the wire along the edges is perfect for forming the 2017 numbers in our New Year's Eve crown. Let's party!
- Gift Wrap Ribbons - one with wire edges and one without
- Single Hole Punch
- Paper Fasteners
- Glue (not pictured)
Step 1: Cut an approximately 5 in. piece of wire edged wrapping ribbon. You will need four total - one for each number in 2017.
Step 2: Tie string to one end of ribbon. Roll or twist ribbon and wind string around the length of the ribbon. Tie end and cut off excess string.
Step 3: Shape ribbon rolls into the numbers for 2017.
Step 4: Cut crown shape out of cardstock.
Step 5: Punch holes along bottom of crown and four punches where you would like to place the 2017 numbers.
Step 6: Weave non wire edged ribbon through the hole punches along the bottom of the crown, saving enough ribbon on each side to secure by tying around head.
Step 7: Cut stars from cardstock in a variety of sizes.
Step 8: Glue stars to crown.
Step 9: Push paper fastener through ribbon numbers and secure to crown via previously punches holes.
The ribbon numbers fray slightly at the top and bottom lending a fun sparkling look to this festive New Year's Eve crown. Here's to 2017!
