We really enjoy math and there are so many ways to have fun with these little Mini Donut Counters! Use to introduce addition or subtraction concepts, add numbers 1-10 in sprinkles and have your child place them in order, or make two of each exactly alike with different colors of frosting for color matching. So many fun ways to use these simple to make donuts!

Start with:

  • Cardboard
  • Small Cup or Container for Tracing
  • Scissors
  • Pen or Marker
  • Cardstock
  • Glue

Step 1: Trace and cut circles from cardboard. We used a single serving yogurt cup for tracing for our circles.

Step 2: From cardstock, cut frosting shapes.

Step 3: Glue frosting shaped cardstock to cardboard circles.

Step 4: Cut small circles from cardboard and glue to center of donuts.

Step 5: Cut tiny rectangles from cardstock for sprinkles and glue to the top of the donut.

We set our counters up with 1 through 10 sprinkles on each donut and then arranged them in order but there are so many ways these little counters can be used to work on counting and matching!
