You know we love rainbows around here - and robots - so we combined the two to create this cute mini robot crew!
- Paper Straws
- Single Hole Punch
- Glue or Hot Glue Gun*
* Supervise closely so little hands aren't burned, or join in the fun and do this part while your little one watches.
Step 1: For each robot, cut three cardboard head squares and three cardboard body squares. Paint one side of each piece and allow to dry.
Step 2: Place one body square with color - color down - and glue a tiny piece of cardboard to the center. Top with another square and repeat one more time, ending with the painted side facing up. This creates a 3D head and body.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 with head squares.
Step 4: To body squares, glue one rectangle piece of cardboard to create a tab for gluing on the head.
Step 5: Glue the head to the body.
Step 6: Bend a paper straw in half and cut. To one half, cut in half for the robot legs. To the other portion, cut two small pieces for eyes and then fold the remaining and cut into equal portions for arms.
Step 7: Glue eyes to the face. Pinch one end of arms and legs and glue to the body.
Step 8: Use paper punch to cut out robot's buttons with cardboard and glue to robot body.
Make mini robots in every color of the rainbow or make them multicolored - so many colorful possibilities!
