We had some blue and green cardboard left over from another project and decided to cut it into small pieces and make a mosaic!

Start with:

  • Cardboard
  • Painted cardboard, paper plates, etc.
  • Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Step 1: Paint and allow to dry, if you don't already have blue and green materials. Cut the blue and green cardboard and paper plates into various sizes of squares and rectangles.

Step 2: Cut a circle from cardboard. (We used a bowl to trace the shape.)

Step 3: Glue the pieces onto the cardboard circle.

Step 4: Once circle is covered, trim the edges around the circle.

Step 5: Add eyes cut from cardstock if you'd like...or a heart!

This would make a fun activity for a recycle themed activity, for Earth Day, or as part of a planet science unit!
