This activity combines art, scissor practice, sensory play, threading and color sorting all in one festive Christmas tree! Whew - that is quite a bit, but there are so many fun things to learn with this activity!
- Paper Straws
- Pipe Cleaners
- Single Hole Paper Punch
Step 1: Paint cardboard green and allow to dry. Cut strips from cardboard, each a bit shorter than the last.
Step 2: Punch holes in each strip, even numbers allow for the pipe cleaner to start and end in the back of each strip.
Step 3: Cut paper straws into small pieces and add them to the pipe cleaner while threading through each stripe.
Ste[ 4: Continue threading pipe cleaners in each strip of cardboard.
Step 5: Bend a pipe cleaner into the shape of a tree and add to the top of the tree shape.
Count the colors, paper straw pieces, cardboard strips or use a ruler to measure each of the strips - learning is so much fun!
