Now we may be "bucking" tradition here but who says a reindeer has to have a brown or red nose? Not us! Let your little pick a favorite color and go with it for this festive mask to spark creative play.
- Paper Plates
- Paper Fasteners
- Hot Glue Gun or Stapler (Supervise little hands or join in the fun and use these tools yourself!)
- Single Hole Paper Punch
Step 1: From cardboard, cut out two antlers and a large triangle.
Step 2: Cut the center out of two paper plates. Fold slightly and cut a medium sized circle from the center of each circle.
Step 3: Trace the center of each circle on cardstock. Cut out circles and glue so half of cardstock circle shows in the center of each paper plate circle. (Allowing space to see!)
Step 4: Glue the eyes together.
Step 5: Glue or staple cardboard triangle below eyes.
Step 6: Wrap antlers in yarn and glue or staple to the top of the eyes.
Step 7: Cut two strips of cardboard and glue to the back of the mask to stabilize.
Step 8: Create paper ball from cardstock using this tutorial and glue or staple to the bottom of the triangle.
Optional - Glue wooden dowel to the side of the mask to easily be held.
Isn't it fun to mix it up now and then?! And, if anyone is wondering, we decided this guy could be none other than Blue-dolph!
